Why do I need to verify my phone all of a sudden and is my privacy assured?
Phone verification was introduced as a way to protect players and the site from online fraud. All you will receive is a phone call or text message from an automated phone that will give you an authorization code (PIN number). This will happen only once and it will take no more than 2 minutes of your time. Phone verification was introduced to make sure that Gamecolony players have top notch security when they pay online.
The site keeps all players' details strictly confidential and never shares them with 3rd parties.
I am using a dial-up and have no other phone available. What do I need to do?
If you are using a dial-up and can't use any separate fixed line or mobile phone, here's what you can do:
After submitting phone verification form but before you disconnect your modem, leave the phone verification form in place as is on the screen. To reconnect, use a new browser window. When you reconnect, switch back to the phone verification form window and enter your PIN.
Why am I not getting a verification text message (SMS) or phone call after submitting the form?
(1) Please make sure that your country is correctly selected in the drop-down box. Your phone number needs to be valid and needs to include an area code.
You can use either your cell phone or or fixed line phone.
(2) If you are selecting 'Text Me now' button, your phone needs to be capable of receiving text (SMS) messages. Instead of opting for a text message, you can always select 'Call Me Now'
